R9 SuperTri ranks as No. 1 driver model in first week on PGA, European Tours
February 02, 2010
TaylorMade's R9 SuperTri driver was made available to PGA Tour pros
for the first time this week the Farmers Insurance Open. According to
Darrell Survey equipment counts executed on Thursday, 25 players put the
R9 SuperTri in play, making it the No. 1 driver model at the event.
"A
lot of guys were getting more ball speed and distance with the R9
SuperTri compared to their gamer," said TaylorMade tour representative
Paul Loegering, "and they took right away to the new shape and black
clubface and black clubhead color scheme."
Likewise, the R9
SuperTri driver was the No. 1 driver model during its first week
available on the European Tour, with 20 in play at the Qatar Masters.
"Very
strong winds early in the week meant many players gave the range a
miss," said Ian Watts, TaylorMade's director of tour operations in
Europe, "yet R9 SuperTri was still the No. 1 driver model. It was a
massive success."
