TaylorMade the No. 1 Driver Brand at The Masters for the 10th Consecutive Year

A decade of dominance is being realised this week, as TaylorMade Golf will rank as the No. 1 driver brand at The Masters for the 10th consecutive year when play begins on Thursday. The milestone is a testament to the trust that the world’s top players put in TaylorMade drivers such as the 300 Series, R500 Series, r7® quad, r7 SuperQuad, r7 Limited, R9™, R9 460, Burner®, Tour Burner, and most recently the R9 SuperTri and Burner SuperFast.

Continuing another tradition, TaylorMade is again providing its Tour Staff professionals participating in this year's Major Championships with specially logoed hats and staff bags, starting with the 2010 "Season Opener" commemorative logo to be used this week. TaylorMade started designing special edition logos in 2003, to pay homage to each major championship and the particular venue at which it is played.

This year’s “Season Opener” logo is highlighted by several special design features including:

  • 1 - The "3" on the yellow flag commemorates the annual Par-3 Contest. A tradition that started in 1960, this year marks its 50th anniversary.
  • 2 - Amateur competitors stay in the Crow's Nest during tournament week, a tradition that dates to the event's first years. Located at the top of the clubhouse, the Crow's Nest accommodates five; only tournament participants are allowed.
  • 3 - The eagle and five stars pay tribute to the 34th president of the United States, a five-star general who left the White House in 1960. A long-time member at Augusta National, several landmarks on the course are named for him, including a tree on the 17th hole, a pond on the Par-3 Course, and a cabin.
  • 4 - A tribute to the 1960 Masters champion, known the world over as "The King" for his charisma and one-time dominance of his sport.
  • Hat Flag Label - The 1960 champion birdied the final two holes to win by a stroke.
