TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour Staff Professional Martin Kaymer Wins 2010 Race To Dubai
TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour Staff professional Martin Kaymer has been crowned European No.1 by winning the 2010 Race to Dubai with seasons earnings of €4,461,010, which surpasses Lee Westwood’s record of 12 months ago by over €200,000.
In doing so Kaymer became the second German after Bernhard Langer to be European No.1, and at just 25 years old is the youngest No.1 since Ronan Rafferty in 1989.
2010 has been an outstanding first year as a TaylorMade-adidas Golf Staff Professional for Kaymer. He started the year with a victory at the Abu Dhabi Championship before becoming US PGA champion after triumphing in a play-off with Bubba Watson. He then took further titles at the KLM Open and Dunhill Links Championship and in-between those events played in the victorious European Ryder Cup team.
Kaymer, perhaps not surprisingly, also lead the stroke average for the season with 70.04.
Kaymer said: "It's been a fantastic year I think. All of the goals that I set for myself, for my career, everything happened this year. To win The Race to Dubai, Number One in Europe, and to play The Ryder Cup, and to win a Major."
